Nintendo have announced the Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch Lite consoles have sold over 52.48 million units.
In Nintendo’s Nine Months Earnings Release (specifically on page 8), it is noted that the Nintendo Switch has sold 52.48 million units since its launched on March 3rd, 2017. 47.30 million of those are the Nintendo Switch itself, while 5.19 million are Nintendo Switch Lite consoles.
The report also mentions software sales total 31.065 million units. 1.77 million units are deemed “new titles.”
Niko Partners Senior Analyst Daniel Ahmad also claims that the Nintendo Switch outsold the Xbox One during holiday quarter 2019. “The Xbox One is not too far behind,” Ahmad explains, “but it has only taken Switch 34 months to achieve what the Xbox One did in 74 months.”
Over the past year, we have seen the Nintendo Switch Worldwide sales balloon. From 32.27 million (February 2019), to 34.77 million (April 2019), 36.87 million (July 2019), and 41.67 million (October 2019).
