Benks Phone Cooler Magnetic Radiator Review

Upon receiving the Benks Phone Cooler, I noticed how much more different it looked, not just packaging wise but design. It’s simple with a touch of a futuristic look and serves one purpose, keeping your phone cool.

While not flashy, and with no controls, it’s a simple solution to play games or watch movies without phone dimming without being nearly as flashy as Razer’s Chroma Cooler. From playing the most demanding games with high FPS to using FaceTime for an extended period, this is definitely a good safeguard to keeping your brightness from dimming.

Overheating can lead to your phone shutting off mid use, deteriorating battery life, and in some cases damaging the internals. Only for iPhones that support MagSafe, this is a decent phone cooler if you’re looking for something to run VTube Studio with. Here’s our Benks Phone Cooler Magnetic Radiator review:

Benks Phone Cooler Magnetic Radiator
Manufacturer: Benks
MSRP: $39.99 USD

Arriving in a box that is somewhat metallic and limited in what it shows, it’s a very simplified design that leaves a little bit more to be desired as far as what can be shown about the project. Inside is the cooler itself and a 1.5 meter USB-C male to male cable.

This can cause a bit of problems since you will need something to connect this to with USB-C natively unless you use a different cable which can lead to more of a hassle.

One other phone cooler I reviewed came with USB-A to USB-C which allows you to plug it in seemingly anywhere. This is a draw back for those that may only exist in the iPhone ecosystem and don’t have or can’t expend USB-C charging block.

It also has a claim of cooling your iPhone in 3 seconds – while writing our Benks Phone Cooler Magnetic Radiator review I can’t say that this is true because it takes some time to do so, closer to a minute or 2. It’s most certainly not bad as it has the ability to cool your phone but it does lack some features like being able to control the speed of cooling.

For it’s many great but simple things, it has one inherent flaw if you’re looking for anything else to attach this to. MagSafe ensures that this stays on your iPhone, but only iPhones. There is no other option to attach this to another type of phone via clip, so it’s iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 approved.

It does redeem itself by being simple and effective enough for normal use. It’s not trying to do too much and is fairly quiet. When you’re using it, you most likely won’t see it, so it doesn’t need to be flashy. I would say that it’s one of the best selling points.

It’s a decent phone cooler that will get the job done but only if you have the hardware to use it on. You can play games on it, watch a movie, or anything and retain brightness on your phone with it. If you’re in the market for one, this isn’t a bad deal at all and I would recommend it if you’re looking for something simple but effective as a solution.
