Crunchyroll have announced that service for Princess Connect! Re: Dive will be shutting down on April 30, 2023.
This only impacts the global English launch while the other versions such as the Japanese version continues to be run.
“We’ll cut straight to the chase: our shared time in Astraea is coming to an end.” the publisher said. “On April 30, 2023 UTC, Princess Connect! Re: Dive will reach its end of service, and players will be unable to log into their accounts after that date.”
This news is likely to be disappointing for English fans of the game, which had come west just over two years ago after the original Japanese release which launched in 2018.
As a result of this closure, in-game purchases have been halted, though players are able to use resources they have already earned through play. Surprisingly there are still two more new characters set to release between now and the upcoming shutdown.
Princess Connect! Re: Dive joins the long list of other smartphone based titles to be seeing a shutdown in the past year, such as Sin Chronicle, The Idolmaster: Cinderella Girls, and Dragalia Lost.
