An MMORPG set in the world of the Horizon series is apparently in the works, if a new report is to be believed.
According to a report by South Korean news company MTN, Sony is supposedly teaming up with NCSoft to make the MMO, the developers behind other MMOs such as Guild Wars and Lineage.
The Horizon series is one of Sony’s more popular franchises, with the first title in the series managing to sell over 20 million copies worldwide across the PlayStation 4 and PC. Its sequel would appear to not have been as successful though.
It appears that this news is likely related to the new multiplayer game we reported on last month. At the time, there was also rumor they would also be remastering Zero Dawn for the PlayStation 5.
As stated before, NCSoft is quite popular in the MMO sphere. They have released multiple such as Guild Wars, Lineage, and Blade & Soul. It is no surprise that Sony would want to partner with them on one of their biggest IPs.
The Horizon series is also one that Sony is hoping to invest into much more in the future. Aside from the recent sequel, it has also been confirmed to be getting a TV series as well.
If you’re interested, you can play the second game as Horizon Forbidden West has been available since February 2022 across PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. In case you missed it – you can find our thorough review on the game here.
