Square Enix have announced NieR: Automata has achieved over 6 million units sold, and NieR Replicant has sold over 1 million.
A mere month after NieR: Automata‘s launch in 2017, it achieved 1 million global shipments. Sales saw a steady and continuous rise [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7], with the previous total being over 5.5 million in late February 2021.
Now, Square Enix have confirmed [1, 2, 3] that not only has NieR: Automata reached over 6 million units sold, but NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139… has achieved over 1 million sales. The latter launched on April 23rd, 2021- reaching its milestone just shy of two months from launch.
In earlier news; a dataminer discovered references to Nintendo Switch graphic presets in NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139…. This could indicate the game may have been intended to, or still will, release on the platform.
Square Enix also previously announced that the Steam version of NieR: Automata would be getting an upgrade patch; after fans rioted over the Microsoft Store version for PC run better. Prior to this, fans had to rely on mods and their own hotfixes to address the various issues found in the Steam port.
