Welcome back to Waifu Wednesday, Niche Gamer’s column where we talk about characters, their appeal, and a little on their history.

This week’s waifu is Judy Hopps from Zootopia!

Before you bust out your pitchforks on our social media, Waifu Wednesday has always been open to western video game, movie, and cartoon characters.

Judy Hopps is the primary protagonist in the 2016 animated movie Zootopia. In the film Judy is Zootopia’s first bunny police officer, but after messing up one of her first arrests she’s put on missing persons case, with the threat of being forced to resign should she fail.

Along the way she teams up with a scam artist fox named Nick and the two uncover a plot exploiting the uneasy peace between prey and predators (why does that sound familiar?)

In the 8 years since the film’s release, Judy has maintained a massive following of fans due to her cuteness and her adventurous personality. Also being one of the most high-profile furry characters in recent years certainly helps her.
