While Konami announced a slew of Silent Hill titles, one was missing despite reports on its existence – this being Silent Hill: The Short Message.
Now once again the game surfaces with Taiwan Entertainment Software Rating board, giving the game a “PG-15” rating due to “Violence, Horror, Inappropriate language”. These are all things that are expected from a Silent Hill game.
Interestingly, the board also lists December 30/31, 2022 as the release date. While that is a common date used as a placeholder for games with unknown launch dates, it’s strange to use 2022 when they should know that the game won’t be coming until 2023 at the earliest.
The game’s listed publisher is also just Konami without any hint towards a developer. The Korean board had also simply listed UNIANA as the publisher, as they are the ones who typically publish titles for Konami in the region. The only listed platform is the PS5, indicating another possible console exclusive like the upcoming Silent Hill 2 Remake.
The rating listing does reveal a synopsis of the upcoming game’s plot, which refers to characters named in a leak from earlier this year.
It appears that it’s only a matter of time before full details on this game come out alongside all the other Silent Hill titles announced earlier this year.
