Even though crossover fighter MultiVersus just hit open beta and has seen much success already, developer Player First Games announced its first season of content has been delayed.
While details are scant, the MultiVersus first season is delayed to an unannounced date, which also affects the release of the game’s next characters.
The first season was going to kick off with Morty from Rick & Morty as the next playable character, with grandpa Rick coming sometime later in the season. The first post-launch / open beta release character released was Lebron James.
“We know this might be disappointing for some and want to assure our Community that we are dedicated to delivering new and exciting content that delights players,” the studio said.

MultiVersus will be free-to-play and launches in full sometime in 2022 on Windows PC (via Steam), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
