MultiVersus is now available in open beta

MultiVersus

MultiVersus has been surprisingly well-received by players, and it’s now available in open beta.

As of our reporting yesterday, the Multiverse closed beta test reached a higher concurrent player count than any other fighter on Steam.

It’s worth reiterating that players can experience the joy of beating up Steven Universe as Shaggy because Multiverse is going to be free-to-play when it hits full release.

While founders who paid for access will have the ability to play the characters currently available at launch, free-to-play players will be able to unlock characters by playing online and earning points to unlock them.

MultiVersus is launching with 17 characters, with the addition of Rick & Morty and LeBron James.

There are even more characters that are slated to be added to the game in the future. Who are you going to main? Me? I’m a full-time Velma main, you know what I’m saying? Jinkies.

In case you missed it, we did a write up on the original closed alpha with impressions on all currently announced fighters – you can find our preview here.

MultiVersus will be free-to-play and launches in full sometime in 2022 on Windows PC (via Steam), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
