Golgo 13 the anime has allegedly been rediscovered after having been thought lost for decades.
Based on the 1968 manga series, Golgo 13 is a professional assassin of unknown origin (though he’s assumed to be Japanese). He’s a sullen man who takes on almost any job with ruthless efficiency.
The anime was allegedly buried in the Tokyo Laboratory media archive.
The 1971 anime adaptation of Golgo 13, allegedly lost for many years, was recently found & will be broadcast on TV for the 1st time in over 50yrs. Due to the uncanny timing, can only imagine it was located at Tokyo Laboratory in the midst of its closure https://t.co/oJOIJ4NkZ5

Japan has a notorious issue with media preservation, due in part to their unique copyright laws which critics point to as the reason for Nintendo’s own policies regarding retro games.
The Golgo 13 anime is expected to broadcast between December 10 and 17. The recovered episodes allegedly include only a small sampling of the anime series, and not the entire thing.
The 1973 live action film recently got a 2K remaster, you can find out more here.
