Yesterday, Niantic unveiled their plans for the July 2022 Pokemon Go roadmap. July’s events will celebrate the six-year anniversary of the release of Pokemon Go at the start of the month. The month ends with a mystery event that will welcome new Pokemon to Pokemon Go. The July 2022 Pokemon Go Roadmap also welcomes back some trainer favorite legendary and mega raids.
Additionally, the road map details the July Community Day Pokemon, the Research Breakthrough encounter, the four spotlight hours, and a little bit more. Let’s dive deeper into the July roadmap and everything Niantic has to offer. From July 1st at 1 P.M PDT to August 1st at 1 P.M PDT trainers will encounter a Lickitung after completing the Research Breakthrough. Lucky trainers can even encounter a shiny Lickitung.
July 2022 Pokemon Go Events
Up first, Niantic is looking to double down on its financial gains by holding two additional Pokemon Go fests within a month’s time. The July 2022 Pokemon Go events are as follows:
- Pokémon GO Fest Berlin – Friday, July 1, 2022, to Sunday, July 3, 2022.
- Pokémon GO Anniversary Event – Wednesday, July 6, 2022, to Tuesday, July 12, 2022.
- July Community Day – July 17th featuring Starly.
- Pokémon GO Fest Seattle – Friday, July 22, 2022, to Sunday, July 24, 2022.
- ??? Event – Wednesday, July 27, 2022, to Tuesday, August 2, 2022.
Spotlight Hours
The July 2022 Pokemon Go roadmap details the four spotlight hours. These spotlight hours will take place each Tuesday from 6 P.M to 7 P.M local time and grant the chance of finding a shiny Pokemon. Here are the July Spotlight Pokemon and the spotlight bonuses:
- July 5: Ledyba, 2X XP for catching Pokemon
- July 12: Machop, 2× Candy for catching Pokemon
- July 19: Staryu, 2X Candy for transferring Pokemon
- July 26: Meditite, 2X XP for evolving Pokemon
Raids
The July 2022 Pokemon Go Raids are all returning raids. July features four different legendary and mega raids. Again Lucky trainers will have the chance to encounter a shiny variant of each raid boss. All raid spawns change over at 10 A.M local time. The four legendary raids are:
- Articuno – Friday, July 1, 2022, to Thursday, July 7, 2022
- Zapdos – Thursday, July 7, 2022, to Thursday, July 14, 2022
- Moltres – Thursday, July 14, 2022, to Friday, July 22, 2022
- Dialga – Friday, July 22, 2022, to Sunday, July 31, 2022
In addition to the returning legendary raids, trainers can participate in Mega raids.
- Mega Charizard X – Friday, July 1, 2022, to Thursday, July 7, 2022
- Mega Charizard Y – Thursday, July 7, 2022, to Thursday, July 14, 2022
- Mega Pidgeot – Thursday, July 14, 2022, to Friday, July 22, 2022
- Mega Gengar – Friday, July 22, 2022, to Sunday, July 31, 2022
