With Guilty Gear: Strive being a major success for Arc System Works, the developer announced a large balance update planned for June 2022, and more.

As the game celebrates its 1 year anniversary since its release, a large balancing update will come on June 10, the exact date of the 1 year anniversary for Guilty Gear: Strive. Arc System Works noted this will include a huge rebalancing of the entire game’s roster of 20 characters.

Specific details on who is getting rebalanced and how, but they describe the changes as involving adjustments to the control scheme and other unspecified mechanics. More details will be revealed closer to launch with patch notes.

The other major announcement they made during the stream was the addition of the feature of cross-play. Details were sparse, but we can expect to see the beta test they announced for this to be arriving sometime during summer 2022. Valve noted cross-play will be coming to PC / Steam and PlayStation platforms.

Here’s an archive of the presentation:

It’s worth noting many expected this livestream to also announce and showcase details for season 2 DLC – something that was confirmed back in March alongside new DLC character Testament. However, nothing came of that during the presentation.

Guilty Gear: Strive is available on Windows PC (via Steam), PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.
