Dark Souls Remastered online servers have finally gone back up after being taken down due to an exploit, which affected both it and its sequels.
The latter two games have since been put back up after a lengthy downtime, but finally – the remaster for the first game’s servers have been restored.
This is good news for fans still playing the game, where the original version’s servers, Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition, will sadly remain permanently offline.
While it is nice that at least one version of the game has had its servers restored, it’s important to note that there are fundamental differences to the games. Despite the name with the re-release, the experiences may differ enough for some players to care.
Still, with the servers of Dark Souls Remastered back up, this should mark the end to the long saga for the popular franchise. That is unless something unforeseen pops up as Dark Souls 3 did suffer another takedown shortly after being restored the first time.
