Dark Souls III PC servers are down… again

Dark Souls III Servers Shut Down Again Thumbnail

After a RCE exploit was found in Dark Souls III, developer FromSoftware and publisher Bandai Namco shut down the PC servers of that as well as the other two Dark Souls titles. This went down even before Elden Ring launched.

These servers remained down until late last month, a downtime of about 7 months, though they remain down for the first two games to even now as of this writing.

Unfortunately it seems the online multiplayer time was short lived, as FromSoftware announced they had to shut down the servers for Dark Souls III, again. Not much information was given, only that they were currently investigating the source of the “confirmed issue.”

The lack of information raises questions if the new shutdown is related to the RCE exploit that took them down in the first place. Unfortunately, no time table was given for when servers can be expected to be started up again.

Dark Souls III has been available for Windows PC (via Steam), Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. In case you missed it, you can find our review for Dark Souls III here (we highly recommend the game).
