The Blue Archive anime was only announced just at the start of the year and has yet to air. However it seems that Nexon Games are already looking into the future with considerations of either a follow series or film adaptation depending on the success of the anime.
This comes via a report by Korea Economic Daily, who made this statement in regards to Nexon’s plans to expand on the IP beyond just the popular gacha game. They’ve already published manga and released music based on Blue Archive and want to do more in the future.
Of course this report comes from a third party source and not Nexon themselves. Also even if it is accurate, the potential of follow ups hinge on the success of the upcoming animated series. Time can only tell what will come of this information.
The game has seen ups and downs, but it most certainly has garnered a lot of attention and fanbase since it launched back in 2021. Nexon certainly has enjoyed the financial success and it makes sense they would want to continue to expand the IP for growth.
