Sony Has Over 25 PS5 Games in Development

Sony has over 25 PS5 games in development, and nearly half of them are entirely new intellectual properties – news confirmed by Sony Interactive Entertainment Worldwide Studios Hermen Hulst.

“There’s an incredible amount of variety originating from different regions,” Hulst said in an interview with Wired. “Big, small, different genres.”

Some of these PS5 games have already been announced, like Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, Horizon Forbidden West, Gran Turismo 7, and some kind of sequel to the 2018-released God of War reboot, among other titles.

Despite the fact that Sony has over 25 PS5 games in development, Sony is expecting PS5 shortages to continue into 2022, according to Sony chief financial officer Hiroki Totoki.

“We’re working as hard as we can to ameliorate that situation,” Sony president Jim Ryan said. “We see production ramping up over the summer and certainly into the second half of the year, and we would hope to see some sort of return to normality in terms of the balance between supply and demand during that period.”
