A new premiere date and a new teaser were shared for the Monster Hunter live-action film.

The Sony Pictures and Screen Gems-produced Monster Hunter film is now set for a December 30th, 2020 premiere.

The film was previously delayed to April 2021, with the new earlier date its clear that production is wrapping up.

The new teaser shows off more brief snippets of the film with the first look at the legendary Rathalos, as well as another look at the Diablos.

Monster Hunter series producer Ryozo Tsujimoto and series director Kaname Fujioka both met up with movie director Paul W.S. Anderson in the teaser – both seemed impressed with what they were shown thus far.

The film was originally announced back in 2016. Pictures of the film first came about in two bursts in December last year. The movie’s first brief trailer gave us a look at the Diablos – you can check that out here in our previous report.

Here’s a brief rundown on the movie:

“When an unexpected sandstorm transports Lt. Artemis (Milla Jovovich) and her unit (TI Harris, Meagan Good, Diego Boneta) to a new world, the soldiers are shocked to discover that this hostile and unknown environment is home to enormous and terrifying monsters immune to their firepower. In their desperate battle for survival, the unit encounters the mysterious Hunter (Tony Jaa), whose unique skills allow him to stay one step ahead of the powerful creatures.

As Artemis and Hunter slowly build trust, she discovers that he is part of a team led by the Admiral (Ron Perlman). Facing a danger so great it could threaten to destroy their world, the brave warriors combine their unique abilities to band together for the ultimate showdown.”
