Nintendo Switch Pro Mentioned on Polish Retail Website

Nintendo Switch Pro

The rumored 4K supporting Nintendo Switch Pro console has been mentioned on Polish retail website MediaMarkt.

We previously reported on rumors of a more powerful Nintendo Switch being in production, a so-called “Nintendo Switch Pro” model. This new model will allegedly support 4K graphics. It would allegedly launch early next year, and boasts being “interactive and has better picture quality” (translation: Google Translate), and with a “slew” of new games from Nintendo and third party studios.

Bloomberg reported Nintendo had told developers to produce games that are “4K-ready.” A leaked patent for a new Joy-Con controller also lead to speculation that the rumored “Nintendo Switch Pro” would not support handheld mode.

Now, a Polish Nintendo Switch news outlet (NintendoSwitch.pl) has discovered the mention of a Nintendo Switch Pro on MediaMarkt (a Polish retailer). While no trace of it remains now, when looking at the Nintendo Switch category, it states “Konsole Nintendo Switch i Switch Pro,” or “Nintendo Switch and Switch Pro consoles” (translation: Google Translate).

NintendoSwitch.pl did not save an archive of the webpage, though provided screenshots of the Switch Pro being mentioned on console, game, and controller category pages. NintendoLife also reported on the story, and took their own screenshot in English.

It should be noted there is a slim chance the official name will be different, with MediaMarkt using a placeholder name; and an even slimmer chance MediaMarkt put up the name before any official statement from Nintendo to them. We will keep you informed as we learn more.

Nintendo have been hemorrhaging leaks throughout 2020. Super Mario 3D All-StarsSuper Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Furyand Paper Mario: The Origami King all leaked ahead of their official announcements [123]. No More Heroes on Nintendo Switch, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword on Nintendo Switch, and Kirby Fighters 2 also leaked.
