Next Ubisoft Forward Conference Reportedly Premieres in September

Ubisoft

Ubisoft have reportedly announced the date of their next Ubisoft Forward presentation, during a first quarter earnings call with investors.

After E3 2020 was officially cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic, numerous companies including Microsoft, Devolver Digital, and Ubisoft (but not Bethesda), announced they would be hosting their own digital events. Geoff Keighley announced the Summer Game Fest, while IGN also stated they would host a Summer of Games in June.

Ubisoft hosted their “Ubisoft Forward” conference on July 12th, revealing (the leaked) Far Cry 6, new information and gameplay for Watch Dogs: Legion, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Hyper Scape, and more.

Ubisoft’s first quarter financial report notes “Ubisoft Forward was a major milestone and the response from our fans was very promising. We achieved record-high peak concurrent viewership (CCV) during this event, surpassing our previous E3 conferences.”

There has been speculation whether the aftermath of the coronavirus pandemic would result in more remote working, along with the video game industry adopting more of their own live streamed press conferences, as oppose to physical events such as E3.

Video Games Chronicle (VGC) reports that the date of the next Ubisoft Forward presentation was revealed during a first quarter earnings call on July 22nd. They state chief financial officer Frédérick Duguet announced the next presentation would be in September.

However, IGN reports that CEO Yves Guillemot made the announcement. As both cite the date of September, we can assume that at least will be accurate. We will keep you informed as we learn more.
