Final Fantasy XV: Pocket Edition Announced

Square Enix has announced yet another spinoff set within the Final Fantasy XV universe.

Titled simply Final Fantasy XV: Pocket Edition, the new game is set for iOS, Android, and Windows 10 devices sometime later this year. It’s supposed to retell the story of Final Fantasy XV, but in a more compact manner (quite literally). Featured above, you can view the game’s announcement trailer.

Players will follow the 10-episode story of the console game and its main characters, however it uses a new art style to feasibly run on smartphone devices. The game also utilizes touch controls that are optimized for smartphones. The first episode will be free, while the remaining episodes sound like you’ll need to purchase them separately.

In related news, Final Fantasy XV was recently confirmed to be heading to PC. Final Fantasy XV is currently available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. In case you missed it, you should check out our written and video review for the game here.
