Platinum Games “Actively Involved in the PC Market” Now, Would Port All of Their Games to PC

PC enthusiasts will be happy to hear that Platinum Games isn’t stopping their releasing of games for the platform with Bayonetta.

In an interview with PC Gamer, the developer said that they wanted to be more “actively involved in the PC market from here on out.” This is echoed with the release of NieR: Automata on PC roughly a week after its PlayStation 4 version, and more recently with the surprise release of Bayonetta on PC.

The developer also went on to say that porting Bayonetta to Wii U also helped with porting the game to PC, as the game’s engine “is built with PC cross-platform development in mind.”

Coming from this, they’ll have a smoother porting process in the future, and they noted that if they could, they’d port “all of [their] games” to PC.

However, this is clearly dependent on whether they own the publishing and distribution rights, and so on, as many of their games have been developed under traditional publishers.

Bayonetta’s original publisher, Sega, also made a similar statement following that game’s PC release, saying they have plans to “explore PC port options,” and they look forward “to sharing more news soon.”
