Man, I didn’t think anyone could top the Sonic Mania debacle on PC. At least the GOG version confirms that there’s a DRM-free version.

But isn’t the reason Falcom went with Nisa because of a simultaneous PC and console release? Also, the PC port must be fucked if its delayed this close to release.

10 bucks say the somehow inserted a bug during translation that fries your PC and sells your information to Chinese hackers so they’re trying to fix it before launch. Which is fine by me so long as the game doesn’t fucking kick me out to the XMB randomly. I’m still mad.

PC just doesn’t stop being a piece of shit platform in providence. Reminder that I’ll be enjoying this today on PS4.

It isn’t Denuvo. Some beta testers leaked horror stories. The game is unplayable in its current state. I’d rather they delay it and release it working over releasing something that runs at 15fps with a GTX 1080. Denuvo isn’t happening and if it does, you got GoG.

Other articles reported that the delay is because they’re improving the graphics for the PC version.

Yeah, but in some masochistic way i would find this situation hilarious, even more because of recent sonic situation.
All joking aside, i am all for postponing release rather than pushing out unplayable turd, but doing so on last day until release is actually unfair to your customers, unless some really sudden shitty situation arises. It is not like they were working with blindfolds on this game all this time, and magically on 9/11 they take them off, and decide to postpone it because oh gosh, our game suddenly does not work.
And you could make an argument that they did it last minute because it is gonna be a short delay, might be to be honest.
But i also believe if it was a short delay, they would have new release date ready at the time of postponing it.
I also wish Falcom were publisher of this in the west, because i could make a joke about nerfing delay, but because of nisa, i can’t.
I will get my coat second time now.

well, at least this will help me to see reviews first, before buying it. Being a NISA release, i have my doubts about how they handled it and how much they could have changed/fucked up (specially the script)

No need; just the knowledge that the PC version will soon enough be the definitive one should be more than enough already.

Hopefully Aksys will actually be able to deliver on their day one PC version for Tokyo Xanadu.

Sounds like your typical NISA quality assurance

I’ve had very few experiences with aksys, mainly shiren 5 and 999. Aside from some odd translation choices and an error or two they’re pretty alright. Dunno how they are on the timeliness.

Well, given NISA’s fuckup here, Aksys proving themselves with TX might very well let them steal away future Ys games.

As someone that – contrary to everyone else – started out hopeful to NISA being included in this threeway Falcom series split, I’d certainly hope so at this point.

The usual NISA negative Nancy’s were a given, but to think they’d actually live up to it with typos and mistranslations being included in demos shown, and then this unspecified delay because of a shit port.

Since Falcom have this game to NISA insted of Xseed because NISA promised them a simultanlious PC release, I hope Falcom will think twice in the future about working with NISA again.

Enjoy your fucking horrible script filled with memes, mistranslations and typos. Those of us who actually care and learned japanese had this game months ago.

    September 12, 2017 at 5:56 pm

While I love the PC I wouldn’t get my hopes too high I mean NISA are not exactly the most qualified technical company. I mean they have broken multiple games just by translating the script and were unable to fix it. When they are in charge of an actual port I can only imagine what the fuck they are going to do. My thoughts are the port is absolutely fucked right now so they delayed it just so it would not hurt the PR for the actual game. From here they will either just out right cancel it in a month or so or put it out as is because they are contractually obligated to.

Shame, it was the game I was most excited for this year, snatched away just before release.
I suppose it’s better this way than getting excited to play and be treated to a horror show on launch.
