Bethesda and Tango Gameworks have revealed the first in a series of three videos for The Evil Within, their upcoming survival horror game that is being helmed by Shinji Mikami.
Featured above, the trailer gives you an overview of the game’s story, which involves the detective Sebastian Castellanos, as he sleuths around the Crimson City and attempts to deduce what is terrorizing it.
A focus is put into the game giving you an old school survival horror feeling, meaning that ammo and weapons will be limited. Coming from this, you’ll have to think twice, and you’ll probably have to stick to the shadows quite often.
The Evil Within is described as a “living nightmare of sinister creatures, unforgiving environments, and lethal traps.” You’ll have to strategically think about how to proceed through dangerous environments, and how to avoid injury.
Lastly, Sebastian will occasionally get a break within an area known as “The Asylum”, which lets the player upgrade his weapons, abilities, and so on.
The Evil Within is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC on October 14th in North America and Europe.
