Super Crate Box is a really fun game made by Vlambeer, featuring a crate that gives you one of fourteen weapons, increasingly difficult and faster moving enemies, and challenging difficulty.
There’s been discussion that Super Crate Box could have been developed and published in the ’80s, and a Commodore 64 enthusiast has taken up that challenge.
The port for Commodore 64 is titled simply Super Bread Box, a play on the game being available physically on C64 cartridges, and was converted by Retro Gamer CD and Paul Kohler.
