Xbox Game Pass $1 subscription deal is over

Microsoft’s ludicrous $1 Xbox Game Pass subscription deal has finally come to an end – suggesting they’ll change up the service soon.

“We have stopped our previous introductory offer for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass and are evaluating different marketing promotions for new members in the future,” head of global comms at Xbox Kari Perez said in a statement (via The Verge).

The deal, which again only cost a dollar, would let anyone try out the subscription service – which lets you get online play, free monthly games, and access to their ever-changing and growing Game Pass library.

Microsoft is definitely looking into these “different marketing promotions,” though they may be for entirely new options for Game Pass – like their rumored ad-supported and cheaper tier.

The company is also officially, yet slowly, rolling out their highly-anticipated “Xbox Game Pass Friends and Family Plan,” which lets up to five users all share the same subscription. While pricier, it’s still a great deal considering the difference if all five users paid for separate subs.
