World of Warcraft went ahead and announced the titles of the next THREE expansions for the game.

The upcoming expansions will form a narrative trilogy that Chris Metzen is calling the “Worldsoul Saga”, likely referring to Azeroth itself. For those behind on their Warcraft lore, some worlds are nascent titans, nurturing a celestial being in their core and Azeroth is one such world.

At the end of the Legion expansion, Sargeras the Dark Titan and master of the Burning Legion was banished by the Pantheon of Titans, but not before he managed to stab his sword into Azeroth’s crust. The sword remains stuck in the earth, stretching out into space due to its sheer immensity.

The first of the Worldsoul Saga is called The War Within and you can check out the trailer below:

The next two expansions will be called Midnight and The Last Titan.

World of Warcraft: The War Within is set to launch sometime in 2024. This will be the first expansion released in the wake of Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision-Blizzard.
