Welcome back to Waifu Wednesday, Niche Gamer’s column where we talk about characters, their appeal, and a little on their history.

Urawa Hanako is a student in the popular mobile game Blue Archive. Her base unit is a healing support character who lays down a patch of terrain that heals all allies in the area for a few seconds, she’s easy to get, with her tokens being available through normal gameplay.

As a character, she’s a member of the Make-Up Work Club due to her poor grades. However rather than being a ditz she actually gets bad grades on purpose, this is possibly because she can stay in the Make-Up Work Club with her friends, rather than join some other club where the power players of Trinity General School might want to use her intellect.

Being so clever, she’s a master of double entendres and teases both the player character Sensei and her fellow Make-Up Work club member Koharu who gets easily flustered.

She’s also one of the curviest characters in Blue Archive, rivaling busty powerhouses like Tsubaki or Mine.

Her birthday was earlier this month on January 3 and you can check out her special birthday video below.

A swimsuit variant of Hanako is going to be the special Blue Archive “fes” unit in a few weeks. Special “fes” units are only available during small windows of time and generally tend to have meta-relevant abilities.
