Welcome back to Waifu Wednesday, Niche Gamer’s column where we talk about characters, their appeal, and a little on their history.

This week’s waifu is Hayase Yuuka from Blue Archive!

Yuuka is one of the first students that players meet when starting up Blue Archive. She’s the treasurer of Seminar, the governing body for the Millennium Science School and is canonically one of the students closest to Sensei as a semi-frequent assistant for his busy work.

Among fans, Yuuka is known for being strict with money and constantly judges Sensei for his flighty purchases (such as Kaitenger action figures), as well as having heavy thighs. It’s a common meme in the Blue Archive fandom to joke about Yuuka’s “100kg thighs”.

In-game, Yuuka is a reliable tank and despite (or perhaps because) being available to even beginning players, she’s considered a meta choice in many Tactical Challenge PvP teams.

Yuuka was suggested for this week’s waifu by the staff here at Niche Gamer.
