Voice Actor Keiji Fujiwara, Final Fantasy VII Remake’s Reno, Passes Away at 55

Keiji Fujiwara’s agency – Air Agency –  has issued a statement, declaring that he has passed away on April 12th at 55. He had been battling with cancer.

Fujiwara’s career in voice acting took off with his role on Crayon Shin-Chan as Hiroshi Nohara (Shin-Chan’s father) in 1992.


His career has included numerous roles in the Mobile Gundam and Zoids series, along with Grappler Baki, Galaxy AngelHeat Guy JFullmetal AlchemistParanoia Agent,School Rumble, Sgt. Frog, Eureka Seven, Baccano!, and Attack on Titan

He also dubbed western films, including Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man in the Marvel films, and Heath Ledger’s Joker in The Dark Knight.

In video games, his roles included Axel in the Kingdom Hearts series, Homare Nishitani in Yakuza 0, Mewtwo in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and Ardyn Izunia in Final Fantasy XV. He had also dubbed western video games, including Cole MacGrath in Infamous 2, Booker DeWitt in BioShock Infinite, and Pagan Min in Far Cry 4.

It appears his final role was Reno in Final Fantasy VII Remake.
