Gamepoch has announced a release date for Vanishing Starlight, their Chinese mythology-inspired metroidvania game.

Vanishing Starlight is set to launch for Windows PC (via Steam) and PlayStation 5 later this month, on March 26th.

Vanishing Starlight is a Metroidvania action-adventure game with cyberpunk and Shan Hai Jing mythological elements infused. Play as a prisoner who lost his memory. Embark on a journey into the stars, retrieve your lost memories, reunite with old day partners and piece together your own story.

Backstory:

Here you are in the World of “Shanhai”, a world of breathtaking beauty and lurking peril. Beneath its vibrant surface lies the cruel dominion of God, forged with an iron fist and woven from lies, where countless beings struggle for survival.

Play as “Salt”, a death row prisoner who lost his memory and trapped in the Gibetuary. Led by a mysterious guide, you escaped that earthly hell and found your partners, only to discover that you all have lost the memories of the past.

Past and present leave no trace with the truth buried deep. Yet you are determined to make God aware: Light of a faint candle can set the heavens ablaze!
