Vampire Survivors animated series

poncle’s indie darling Vampire Survivors is getting a “premium animated television series” from production studio Story Kitchen.

The new Vampire Survivors animated series is being produced by Story Kitchen alongside poncle founder Luca Galante. The comedic gothic horror game is being developed into a TV show and is directly based on the game’s premise.

Further details are scant, but the animated series is seeking a writer and following this the project will be shopped around to TV networks in the hopes it gets bought up and distributed.

“There lived an evil person named Bisconte Draculó, whose many evil magics created a bad world filled with famine and suffering,” reads the game’s official description. “It’s now up to the members of the Belpaese Family to end his reign of terror and return good food to the table.”

“There’s no place to hide -all you can do is try to survive a cursed night and get as much gold as possible for the next survivor- before Death inevitably puts an end to your struggles. Mow down thousands of night creatures and survive until dawn! This is a gothic horror action game, where your choices can allow you to quickly snowball against the hundreds of monsters thrown at you.”

Story Kitchen, who are also working on a Sifu movie adaptation, was founded by John Wick writer/creator Derek Kolstad, Sonic the Hedgehog film and TV producer Dmitri M. Johnson, and former APA agent and partner Mike Goldberg. The production studio also has TV adaptations for Toejam and Earl, Splinter Cell, Tomb Raider, and more.

“The most important thing in Vampire Survivors is the story, so it’s a dream come true to see what started as a little indie game I made on my weekends come to life as an animated TV show!” said poncle founder Luca Galante. “It’s also great to be partnering up with such experienced and talented people to make the show. I do wonder if they’ve realised that there isn’t a single vampire in Vampire Survivors, though,” says Luca Galante, founder of poncle.

Consulting agency Robot Teddy added, “Collaborating with poncle on Vampire Survivors has been a coffin-load of fun. And now, with Story Kitchen on board, we’re thrilled to be adding even more depth to the world of the undead. We can’t wait to sink our teeth into this project and help bring together this uncanny combination of thrilling storytelling, excellent animation, and undeadly creatures,” said Alessandro Bovenzi, Director of Business Development at Robot Teddy.
