Unity Engine Starts Games Label

Not content with merely being the platform that powers some of the biggest indie releases we’ve seen in the paste couple of years (Shadowrun Returns, Wasteland 2, Numenera, Shroud of the Avatar), Unity Technologies has announced that they are creating their own game development house and will be crafting new titles with their namesake engine.

The first of these games is a diablo-inspired action RPG called Archangel.

Archangel will see release on Android and iOS devices tomorrow on the 9th of January, though no other platform was mentioned. The game is a traditional ARPG with 30 levels and a system that enables you to either go back to town or go double-or-nothing by risking everything in a second trip, much like Dragon’s Crown did last year on the PS3.

According to Unity Games’ Oren Tversky, Archangel is just the first in what they hope will be many more self-made releases by the company.
