PlayStation Productions and Columbia Pictures have shared the first look at Tom Holland as a young Nathan Drake in the upcoming live-action Uncharted movie.

The new photo was revealed by star Tom Holland, who is playing a younger Nathan Drake, the protagonist of the Uncharted game series by developer Naughty Dog.

Announced way back in 2008 just after the first game, Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, the live-action movie has gone through numerous writers, issues, and over half a dozen directors as well.

The live-action had resumed filming and production in July of this year, following a production halt due to coronavirus concerns.

Nathan Drake’s voice actor in the game series, Nolan North, also shared photos of some of the sets from the film:

Tom Holland (Avengers: Endgame, Spider-Man: Far From Homes, Spies in Disguise) plays a young Nathan Drake, guided by Mark Wahlberg as Victor “Sully” Sulivan. Antonio Banderas, Sophia Taylor Ali, and Tati Gabrielle are all set to star as well. The film is directed by Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland, Gangster Squad, Venom), with the plot taking place as a prequel before the games.

Uncharted is set to premiere on July 16th, 2021 in North America.
