Ubisoft announces their next-gen titles will cost $70, starting with Skull and Bones

Ubisoft

Ubisoft announced that its current gen AAA titles will be seeing a price increase going forward.

New games will be released $70 to “come at the same price as the competition,” Ubisoft said in a new interview (via Axios). Skull and Bones will be the first of teheir new games to be sold at $70 when it releases this November.

Fans of Assassin’s Creed can relax however as Assassin’s Creed Mirage, a game that has already been swamped with confusion and controversy since it’s revealing, will be shipping at $50 rather than $70. But it is expected that future Assassin’s Creed titles will match the $70 price in the future.

Ubisoft has been in a position of making bad choices from an optics perspective the last several months, from their failed attempt at creating NFTs to their doubling down on NFTs. Even fans of the company have been left scratching their heads wondering about the direction of the company going forward.
