Twitch Adds Esports Directory to Streaming Service

Twitch

Twitch have now introduced a Esports Directory to their streaming service, placing all their Esports content in one place.

As detailed on their news blog, the directory will focus on games with competitive Esports scenes. Along with tournaments and events, more channels, and content from professional players.

With Valorant recently handing our beta keys to those watching the game on Twitch, and Blizzard Entertainment making tournament watchers link their Twitch and Battle.net accounts in 2018- how will this change the relationship between Esports and Twitch?

You can full explanation below.

“This new directory, which is rolling out over the coming days, puts all of the esports content on Twitch in one central place. Tune in to watch live events, catch up on past matches, discover new esports channels, and learn from the best pro players. The experience is tailored to make it easier for you to find the games and events you’re most interested in and help discover content you might like, but didn’t even know about. We’re looking at you, Farming Simulator League.

The Esports Directory will be populated with the most competitive and premier esports events around the world, like ESL Katowice, Rocket League Championships Series, Twitch Rivals, and the League of Legends World Championship to name a few. We’ll continue to add more events, channels, and pros to keep the content fresh and make sure we’re including all of the players and games the community cares about most.

Esports continues to thrive in large part because of the enthusiasm, engagement, and feedback from esports fans on Twitch, and the Esports Directory is part of our commitment to making sure Twitch remains the best place to watch. We’re just getting started, and can’t wait for what’s to come.”
