Peacock’s long-awaited Twisted Metal TV show has finally given us a proper look at its cast and presentation with a first teaser.
Based on the original video game with over-the-top characters in a vehicular murder competition, the new series stars Anthony Mackie alongside Will Arnett, the latter of which is voicing Sweet Tooth himself.
Mackie, the protagonist, is described as a “motor-mouthed outsider who is offered a chance at a better life, but only if he can successfully deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland.”
While Arnett is voicing Sweet Tooth – he’ll be physically portrayed by AEW superstar Samoa Joe alongside Neve Campbell as Raven, and the supporting cast with Lou Beatty Jr., Thomas Haden Church, Stephanie Beatriz, Mike Mitchell, and Tahj Vaughans.
Here’s the first teaser trailer:
The new live-action series was originally pitched via Zombieland and Deadpool writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. Cobra Kai writer Michael Jonathan Smith is also on board to write the show and serves as showrunner for the entire series, alongside Will Arnett and Marc Forman as executive producers.
Twisted Metal is set to premiere exclusively via Peacock on July 27th.
