Touhou Genso Rondo: Bullet Ballet Puts Yukari In The Spotlight For New Trailer

Yukari Yakumo got to take center stage for Touhou Genso Rondo: Bullet Ballet’s newest introduction trailer. Coming from NIS America, the new trailer shows quite a bit of Yukari’s gameplay as well as a few of her bigger spells and their insane bullet hell patterns.

You can also take a quick look at Yukari’s official bio for the game:

  • Species: Youkai
  • Ability: Manipulation of Boundaries
  • BGM: Necrofantasia
  • Bio: A yokai who appears everywhere, but nobody knows where she lies. She is one of the oldest yokai living in Gensoukyou, and thus one of the most powerful. A phenomenon to be “spirited away” is caused by her when she blurs boundaries.

It’s only too bad we didn’t get to hear Necrofantasia in the video.

Touhou Genso Rondo: Bullet Ballet is coming to PS4 on September 6th.

I'm a pretty chill guy. Huge video game fan, but a bigger anime fan. I also love to write - obviously.

What? No gameplay footage of her gapping into the outside world and fucking every guy she sees?

NISA is bringing it over? I really shouldn’t have used that monkeys paw when wishing touhou fangames would get official western releases.

I don’t know what you could censor in that game, so I think it’s fine in that regard. I will never understand why NISA wastes money to pick up ecchi-heavy games only to censor it, piss people off and not sell a single copy. My worry is whether it’ll melt the PS4 or otherwise fuck the system bad when it’s running, and I’m too much of a Touhou sucker that I’m willing to risk it. Forgive my sins for putting money into NISA’s pockets, but they’ve discovered my weakness. I cannot resist a Touhou game, especially when they went through the trouble to make a physical copy.

Have to wait for reviews on this one (even though it only costs 30€), I’m more interested in Genso Wanderer and Xseed’s sadly download only Scarlet Curiosity.

I don’t think anything in this game is censor worthy, so stop bitching about NISA.

Not many options left at the homefront and lets not forget how badly they got their ass rammed a couple of years back for the amount of niche games they localized.

NISA does have other quality issues besides the censorship, such as some pretty atrocious name or dialog changes, as well as managing to introduce some hellish game-breaking and system-crashing bugs that were never present in the native version. But they had the common sense to keep the characters’ names the same, since they’re already well-renowned, and I imagine they realize they’re under some stiff pressure from the Touhou community to release a decent product, especially with XSEED localizing a Touhou game themselves, driving up the competition for the series. I’m cautiously optimistic this game will turn out fine, but we’ll see for sure.

NISA has been getting worse in quality and even when they don’t censor they still manage to fuck up in other aspects so I’d still be wary.

I’m glad that more Touhou games are coming West, but I’m pretty crap at bullet hells. This should still be an enjoyable experience.

The game got average reception sadly, but hey atleast the game isn’t as bad as the other indie game we got this week, One Way Trip. And as for Genso Rondo, unless you are a Hardcore fan of Touhou or liked the Mechwars (or was it Techwars), then the game isn’t for you.
