Tokyo Babel is Coming West and Bringing its Apocalyptic Tale of Heaven and Hell Colliding

Manga Gamer has announced they’re localizing propeller’s apocalyptic visual novel, Tokyo Babel.

The story in Tokyo Babel is set on the eve of an apocalypse, where the gates of Heaven are closed and Hell itself is mysteriously submerged in water. To escape their calamity, the surviving angels and demons flee to the eponymous moving purgatory of Tokyo Babel – in a hope to enter Heaven and earn divine redemption.

The narrative in Tokyo Babel is clearly very firmly rooted in Christian mythology, and will over a 50 hour long adventure that is being poised as a tale perfect for fans of the chuuni genre. Players take up the role of a young man named Tendou Setsuna, who journeys to Tokyo Babel to offer his services to the ongoing quest to heaven.

He is accompanied by the archangel Raziel, the iconic demon Lilith, as well as the amnesiac student Kugutsu Sorami. Manga Gamer describes the story as one of “love, hate, passion and betrayal,” and a story that will change the fate of the known universe.

Storywriter Yuuichirou Higashide is the brains behind the game, known for the demonic/alternate history visual novel Ayakashibito.

A release date wasn’t given, but we’ll keep you guys posted.
