The most recent issue of Dengeki PlayStation has revealed new characters and gameplay mechanics of Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout.

New Characters

Lyra Desias (the dark-clothed woman with silver hair seen in the game’s opening) is a mysterious woman who is cool, calm, and collected. She is investigating Anbell and Kuken Island for an unknown reason. She fights alongside Ryza as a party member, and even teaches Ryza how to fight. She uses a pair of talons in battle.

Kiro Shinus is a spirit user who is fighting alone for something important. You will run into her in “unexpected places.” Agathe Harman is the popular leader of the soldiers who protect Razenboden Village, and also watches over Ryza and her friends.

Linkage Synthesis

This new synthesis system means there are now trees for each recipe, with nodes each being their own material. Even the same tree can have a different outcome depending on the route taken. Automatic synthesis will also be included. “Item Rebuild” allows you to quickly re-synthesize items you have already used. You can even synthesize materials previously used in synthesizing other items.

Gathering Point Synthesis

You can now create fields to gain special items. Combining synthesis with bottles and materials, you can gain different items.

Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout is coming west on October 29th in North America and on November 1st in Europe across Windows PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4.
