TellTale Games have announced a delay for The Wolf Among Us 2 into next year.
According to their statement, the primary reason for this delay is to avoid crunch. A topic which has garnered much discussion in game development.
The team also revealed they made a shift from Unreal Engine 4 to Unreal Engine 5, which is another factor contributing to this delay. Previously, they restarted development of the game upon shifting from their own engine to Unreal Engine 4.
The developer said their only other option if they were to attempt a 2023 launch was to ship an “unfinished game”, so the team ultimately decided it’s best to delay it to 2024.
Previously, The Wolf Among Us 2 was announced way back in 2017, which essentially was canceled when Telltale Games shuttered their studio. It was re-announced again in 2019 shortly after the studio was “revived.”
The Wolf Among Us 2 will now be coming sometime in 2024 for Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.
