The Wolf Among Us 2 Back to Square One With Unreal Engine

The Wolf Among Us 2 will be the first game in Telltale Games’ history to not use the Telltale Tool engine. Development has completely started over, according to a USgamer interview with Jamie Ottilie, CEO of LCG Entertainment/Telltale, and will begin anew using the Unreal Engine 4.

The sequel to the original Wolf Among Us was announced years ago, but was canceled in 2018 after the collapse of the studio. This upset many fans, as the story of the first title ended on a pretty massive cliffhanger. However, after Telltale was acquired by LCG Entertainment, production of The Wolf Among Us 2 has recommenced. There was even a surprise teaser trailer reveal at the 2019 Game Awards, reigniting interest in the seemingly abandoned franchise.

The sequel will be developed by Telltale and AdHoc Studio, a new company formed by ex-Telltale employees, including the lead writer and directors from the original game. The voice talent for Bigby Wolf and Snow White will also reprise their roles, as well as composer Jared Emerson-Johnson.

A release date has not been confirmed yet, but we’ll keep you posted if any news breaks on the topic.
