CD Projekt RED’s critically acclaimed title The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has been enormous for the Polish-based company, enjoying both critical and as we’ve just learned, financial success.
In a recent financial report, CD Project Red say that between May 18th and June 30th, the game sold 6,014,576 copies, of which one million were activated through GOG.
The company made a net profit of 63.3 million USD in the first half of 2015. In case you missed it – you can find our review for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt here.
It’s not over just yet for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, as there are still two expansion packs being developed, Heart of Stone and Blood & Wine.

August 26, 2015 at 6:11 pmThe Witcher 3 is my GOTY too.
Still I think MGSV and FO4 with their huge fan base gonna get most of the GOTYs this year.

August 26, 2015 at 6:43 pmMyths made by dumb executives this breaks:
– Single player is dead
– All DLC must cost money
– Single player must be linear and have tons of setpieces
– Cinematic gaming is good

August 26, 2015 at 9:47 pmTo be fair they did shit wrong too
-Downgrades and lying to consumers is okay
-Cutting content from the game to give away for free is okay in a cheap way to garner good will
-Prioritizing consoles is okay
-EVEN RACISM as a marketing point
I mean damn this game is by no means a piece of shit but it’s also being revered as the second coming of Christ. CD Projekt is a business too and they want your shekels. They even had a one time online activation DRM which completely violates their supposed DRM marketing for GOG.

August 27, 2015 at 4:00 amI wasn’t aware of some of those points and they are fair. Those the last two are subjective (because I’m a lazy asshole and use my pad for PC as much as possible, I don’t mind a console interface) and well the EVEN RACISM is just dumb in my opinion but not worth roasting CD Projeckt Red over. Was the free DLC already in the files or what is partially incomplete.
Have no idea about the DRM thing, so I can’t comment on that.

August 27, 2015 at 8:13 amIt was in the files and the download was basically an unlock code.
