The Scenario for the First Portion of the Final Fantasy VII Remake is Already Completed

We’ve learned (via Famitsu, Hachima Kikou) that the scenario for the first portion of the Final Fantasy VII Remake is already finished.

This means the scenario from the beginning up to its ending is totally finished. Square Enix also confirmed the development team is getting help from the Kingdom Hearts team.

As we previously reported, the Final Fantasy VII Remake is being split up into separate parts, each of which reportedly having the volume of an entire standalone game – with developers on the team saying a remake couldn’t fit into a single release.

However, some new bits of information have come out of the latest issue of Famitsu, like how Square Enix is looking to expand the stories behind Biggs, Wedge, and Jessie more. They’re also looking to make the hallucination scenes Cloud experiences more impacting and meaningful.

Square Enix supposedly has an idea of how many games they want to make for the remake, but they’re not ready to confirm this yet. They’re also not talking about an online component at this time.

In regards to combat, there’s an entirely unique system that is separate from Limit Breaks. Unfortunately, they’re not ready to show it yet, but it will change pending the player’s fighting style. There’s nothing set for guarding, however.

With the game’s cast, they’re looking to have voice actors from Advent Children reprise their roles, but some still haven’t been offered yet. Coming from this, Red XIII was only a cameo in the movie, so his voice might be changed.

The Final Fantasy VII Remake is currently in development for PlayStation 4.
