The Legend of Heroes: Trails from Zero and Trails to Azure launch for PS5 and Switch 2 in September

The Legend of Heroes: Trails from Zero

NIS America has confirmed that The Legend of Heroes: Trails from Zero and The Legend of Heroes: Trails to Azure will launch on PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2 in September.

Often referred to as the Crossbell duology, these two RPGs are considered some of the most beloved entries in Nihon Falcom’s long-running Trails series. While they already arrived in the West on PC, PS4, and Switch back in 2023, the new versions come packed with technical improvements designed for modern hardware.

As previously announced, players can expect support for up to 4K resolution, 120 FPS gameplay, High-Speed Mode, and the option to switch between original and enhanced textures. Nintendo Switch 2 owners will also gain mouse support, adding a new level of precision when navigating menus and exploring Crossbell. A release date for both re-releases is set for September 10, 2026.

Trails from Zero follows Lloyd Bannings as he joins the Special Support Section, a small team tasked with helping the citizens of the politically fragile city-state of Crossbell. The sequel, Trails to Azure, raises the stakes considerably as the team becomes entangled in larger conspiracies that impact the entire continent.

The new release will be available both digitally and as a physical bundle containing both games. A collector-focused Limited Edition is also available, packed with bonus items including an art book, soundtrack CDs, and other memorabilia.
