The developers of Tenderfoot Tactics have pulled their game from the Microsoft Store to protest the company’s partnership with Israel’s Mossad security forces.
Announced only via Bluesky (the developer deleted their X account a few months ago) by badru, the lead developer for Tenderfoot Tactics, the game has been pulled from the Microsoft Store in protest of their Israel partnership.
Tenderfoot Tactics was originally released for Windows PC and Mac (via Steam) back in 2020 and later got console ports for Xbox and Switch in 2024.
The game being pulled comes at a time when Microsoft (Xbox’s parent company) is under increased scrutiny due to leaked documents revealing that the company has close ties with Mossad and has been providing the Israeli military with AI equipment and surveillance technology to use in operations against Palestinians in Gaza.
It has also been revealed that since at least 2015, the Anti Defamation League has been working with Microsoft to censor “cyberhate” on chat platforms, the definition of which has been expanded to include support for calls to boycott Israeli businesses.
One such game that was targeted for support of Palestine was Fursan al-Aqsa: The Knights of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, which we covered last year. You can read our exclusive interview with the developer here.
Because of these revelations, the BDS movement has called for a boycott of Microsoft, and many indie developers have responded by pulling their games from the Xbox store. Tenderfoot Tactics is so far the most prominent game to join the boycott.

The Tenderfoot Tactics team has decided to remove our game from sale on Xbox in solidarity with the Palestinian-led Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions campaign, which added Xbox to their priority boycott list earlier this month.
We hope that Microsoft will listen to the voices of their workers and customers and stop all business with the criminal Israeli military, which we have watched conduct an open genocide in Gaza over the last 18 months.
We hope that the broader community will join in the pressure campaign and fight for an end to occupation and apartheid in Palestine and across the world.
