NieR Series is Finished

A new video update with key staff on the franchise has creator Taro Yoko saying the NieR series is finished, well unless he gets a big pile of money.

Square Enix producer Yosuke Saito asked NieR creator Taro Yoko if there was anything he’d want to do with the series in the future.

“Something I would like to do relating to the Nier series, eh?” Yoko asked in return.

He followed that up with a very blunt “Nah, nothing!” response. Yosuke then further quizzed Yoko, saying “Nothing? You are ok to leave it here then? Fine not doing anything more with YoRHa?”

Then, Yoko laid out the possibly sarcastic response. “That’s right. We announced it here today folks. The NieR series is now finished!”, he said.

Saito then teased “That may well be proved a lie, you know?” Yoko then responded with “I guess so. We just don’t know. But… you never know… I might do more if I get a big ole’ pile of money…”

Finally, Saito started encouraging Yoko’s madness, saying “A crazy amount of money it is then.. I’ll just go and sort that out!”

Yoko then got excited saying “You will?!” and then Saito said “I will indeed. I can get that.”

The remainder of the holiday 2021 video update is quite worth the watch as Saito, Yoko, and series composer Keiichi Okabe all joke about what they want for Christmas. Yoko apparently needs the help of Santa to finally become a good person.
