Japanese developer Sonzai Games has announced Super Sami Roll 2, a new sequel to their cute physics-based platformer.

Super Sami Roll 2 is in development for Windows PC (via Steam). While a release date wasn’t confirmed, Sonzai will seek funding to finish the game on Kickstarter.

The original Super Sami Roll has been available for PC (via Steam), Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PS5.

Sami is celebrating his birthday party with friends, when suddenly the evil Albert VII appears in the sky riding his new airship and kidnaps everyone except Sami. Rumors say that Albert VII plans to open a zoo on the moon. Could he be plotting to add Sami’s friends to the exhibit?

Help Sami free his friends one by one as you visit all kinds of exciting and wondrous locations and get ready to run, jump, rail grind and, most of all, roll your way to victory!

Super Sami Roll 2 is not your standard 3D platformer, it’s a rolling platformer! Movement is more free-form than in most games, allowing for unique playstyles and movement expression. Additionally, abilities such as the “grappling tongue” allow you to skip obstacle and sometimes even entire areas!

It’s up to you to create your own path. Do you want to take it easy and enjoy the beautiful environments, or do you want to find big skips and tricks and be the fastest when completing levels?
