Still Waiting for Pillars of Eternity? Don’t Worry, Obsidian is Teaming up with Paradox Entertainment

Despite the Kickstarter funded Pillars of Eternity being delayed multiple times into a tentative release for this winter, it seems like the folks at Obsidian Entertainment might have bitten off a bit more than they could chew in their ambitious title. Thankfully, they’ve sealed a deal with Paradox Entertainment to market and distribute the title on PC, so that alleviates some of the burden of the game’s development.

Pillars of Eternity was formerly known as Project Eternity on Kickstarter, where it earned over $3.9 million dollars in October of 2012. Despite the numerous delays the title has seen, Obsidian Entertainment managed to finish and publish South Park: The Stick of Truth earlier this month. When asked why they chose Paradox for publishing Pillars of Eternity, Obsidian’s Fergus Urquhart said “They’re a bunch of crazy Swedes.”

This announcement follows in the steps of Paradox Entertainment’s reveal for a bold new CRPG with Norse themed back in January, titled simply Runemaster. Unfortunately, we don’t have much more info than that to go off of, but we’ll keep you guys posted.
