South Korean developer SHIFT UP has announced they’re hiring for a “cross platform next-gen project,” and it sounds quite ambitious.
News of their next title comes from the company’s hiring page. The new hirings make sense now that which is moving into active development now that their latest title, Stellar Blade, is set to launch this month.
Details on the next-gen project are scant but some of the new hirings describe the game as a “AAA urban science fiction action RPG.” The various listings also mention the game will be on PC, consoles, and smartphones, and that it will be built in Unreal Engine.
The premise of the game sounds familiar to anyone following Chinese developer miHoYo’s next game, Zenless Zone Zero, which they describe as an urban fantasy action RPG. Perhaps SHIFT UP’s take on the genre will be more focused on science fiction and less fantasy.
