With all the mods already existing for Starfield, it’s easy to forget that the game doesn’t have official support for mods as of its launch.
Coming from this, it’s worth mentioning Bethesda’s reputation of having their games being heavily moddable to the extent that it fixes glaring issues with their games.
Now it’s been confirmed through game director Todd Howard, in an interview with Famitsu. According to him, it’ll be done “in a big way” similar to other past titles by the company such as Fallout 4 and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
Fans of the company will be happy to hear Bethesda will continue to support the modding community. Considering that Starfield is Bethesda’s biggest launch ever, there will be even more new fans introduced to modding than ever before.
Though considering the reaction by notable modding websites by banning uploads of certain mods, it’ll be interesting to see if Bethesda also limits their creation or just steps back and allow fans to create whatever they want.
Starfield is available now on Windows PC (via Steam) and Xbox Series X|S.
